Township life means siblings often have to play primary caregiver while both parents are at work.

Here an older brother looks after the baby of the family. The cardboard, corrugated tin shack is clean, warm and obviously belongs to a house proud family that in other other circumstances would translate into a formal brick home.

There is no running water and the toilet is a communal one that over 100 families have to share.

I loved the little boys expression as he lay on his parents bed. Picture: Bazil Raubach/all rights reserved without exception./2008
